In addition to the continuous 8 weeks of Summer Intensives, Rella’s Spielhaus is offering One-Day Holiday Intensives, and vacation Intensives for children age 3 - 12 years old at EPIC SECURITY BUILDING on the UWS. Every camp will feature a different topic. The themes will be related to a German composer, painter, historical figure or other theme that features German culture and language. It is proven that vocabulary acquisition increases dramatically in a bi-lingual setting when the children are offered additional material such a pictures, music, real life examples etc. (Medina 1990).
This year, we are offering a Columbus Day Camp. Any Kindergarten through 4th grader at any level of German proficiency is welcome. The topic of the Day will be Christopher Columbus. Who was he? Why did he leave Italy/Spain? Why are we celebrating Columbus Day? Who is or is not celebrating Columbus Day? We would like the kids to leave the camp with refined knowledge about the history of this holiday - in German!
We only have 12 slots, so be sure to sign up today!
