Toddler Care

TODDLER ROOM (12–24 months)
During their first year at Rella’s Spielhaus, the children embark on a big journey: They learn how to walk, talk, and eat by themselves. The Rella's Spielhaus teachers encourage and help them to discover their newly found independence. Everything that your toddler will engage in will be a full body experience. It is important to us, especially at that young age, that the young students will get to know new experiences with all of their senses. The year is full of new projects such as hand painting, working with play-dough, clay, discovering stones and cones (and many other treasures from Central Park) and last but not least, embarking on first cooking projects with cookie dough, whipped cream or even spaghetti!

Your child takes its first steps toward independence, gently guided by Rella’s teachers. As sounds become language, we nurture your child’s German through singing, rhyming, and reading, becoming your child’s dedicated conversation partners. 

📅 WEEKLY ENRICHMENT
⚽ Soccer with Adrian: Every Tuesday, Coach Adrian offers a fun soccer practice with the toddlers. It is astounding how early children learn how to navigate a ball with their feet. Early soccer lessons effectively foster your child’s joy for ball games.
🎶 Music with Barbara: On Wednesdays, Barbara teaches the toddlers the concept of rhythm, structure, and musical expression through movement and voice. We sing and dance and try out many rhythm instruments. Even Barbara’s recorder, the "Mundharmonika,” the piano, and the cello can be touched and tried out.
